VARIABLE Monoprints

Still drawn to my favourite subjects – pears, lemons, etc – I use stencils and paint directly onto the silk screens, applying the paint – one layer at a time – to create depth and texture. The application of colour can be controlled to a certain extent, but the process is more intriguing because there is an element of randomness when the paint is drawn through the screen. The variety and inconsistency this produces means that no two prints are the same. I create these monoprints in small runs and limit the editions.
