PEARS & Lemons

Regarding my subjects as portraits, I enjoy exploring the character of the ‘models’ and the relationship they have with each other. The figure-like shapes of pears or the bold solidity of lemons exude human qualities. Often oversized, many of my works take graphic forms with the focus on the ‘pose’ and shape of the subjects.

Explorations with bowls of fruit explore shapes and shadows, capturing different angles and expressing reflections and relationships between object and container.
